About Me:
I am an award-winning essayist who writes about power, performance, and pop culture. My work has been published by Teen Vogue and TDR, and I am a regular contributor for Austin’s arts and lifestyle magazine, Tribeza.
I hold a doctorate in Theatre & Performance Studies from Tufts University, where I successfully defended my dissertation, “Listening Incommensurably: Reckoning with Sexual Violence through Critical Geographic Performance in the Contemporary U.S. and Canada.”
My research is foremostly committed to ending sexual violence in the Americas through a deeper engagement with performance and place; I encourage an original method of spectatorship that I term “listening as incommensurable practice.”
I have experience leading courses across the performing arts, English literature, arts’ writing and education, and feminist studies at Tufts, UT-Austin, and Harvard University.
I also proudly work at a Vogue-recognized shop in East Austin, Pecos Jane Vintage, where I write a regular fashion history newsletter.
You can also find my writing on my SubStack, Active Listener.
